Details that define design
In his most ornate collection yet, Designer Rashid Malik treated the audience to a decadent collection of classical long dresses, each embellished with some of the finest Pakistani handiwork techniques in existence. Rich phulkari and chunri embroidery was contrasted against colourful pattern work featuring 3D work, stones, crystals and giant beads. Focus was on striking statement dupattas, each with their own ornate handiwork. Shades of green contrasted effortlessly with the regalness of gold stones and beads, set off by the sparkle of silverwork. Pakistani bridalwear at its most creative, Rashid’s collection showed the beauty of couture – from a distance his pieces were captivating, yet close up they were magical.
